The PayAngel Direct to Merchant Remittances (D2MR) was launched in London on Friday 11th November 2022 at the Barclays Rise, a global hub for fintech start-ups. The solution seeks to scale up diaspora investments in Ghana through direct remittances to the Financial Services, Educational and Health sectors but is being piloted in the Ashanti and Western Regions through the partnership with United Nations Capital development Fund (UNCDF) and funding by the European Union Trust Fund under the GrEEn Project. The D2MR will make it easier for merchants including returning migrant businesses of all sizes and industries to easily collect payments and transfers and allocate them appropriately.
Jones Amegbor CEO of PayInc Group operators of PayAngel said” we will use this project as a scalable preparatory platform to educate returning migrant business and merchants with diaspora relations. This solution further opens new markets for merchants to sell their products and services in our operating markets.
The Direct to Merchant Remittances is being backed by the UNCDF GrEEn project with funding from EU Trust Fund for Africa.
